Tough Luck for Sauter at Grundy

Travis Sauter raced Friday night July 13th at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, IL. It was his first ever trip to the 1/3 mile speedway, and he was up to speed quickly. After posting the 3rd fastest lap in practice, Travis backed it up by qualifying in the 2nd position, narrowly missing the pole by .007 of a second. The invert would place Travis in 11th position for the start of the race, unfortunately his night was done early as the left rear trailing arm bracket broke 23 laps into the event while running 9th. He finished in 29th place. "I hate when this kind of stuff happens, we work so hard to make sure we don't fall out of races, but we just couldn't avoid the bad luck tonight. I had high hopes for the race after qualifying so well, but the car wasn't great in the race. We probably would have finished in the top 5, but we'll never know for sure. I'm really looking forward to Madison, I feel like that place owes me one from last year, I'll do anything to win it.
