SAUTER HAS SOLID RUN AT ELKO

Travis Sauter finished 7th at the Elko 125 ASA Midwest Tour race at Elko Speedway in Elko, MN. Travis qualified 4th out of the 47 cars on hand for the event, and was optimistc heading into the feature. After the invert he would line up for the race in 10th position. At the start he maintained his running position and reported a "very tight" race car to the crew. Because of the extened race distance there was a 10 minute break at lap 75 where adjustments could be made to the car. This break was good news for Travis because his car was in need of some changes. After the break the car handled "quite a bit better", and Travis was able to work his way to 7th position, narrowly missing 6th at the line.

"Thats a solid run to start the season", stated Travis. "I think the cold weather(35 degrees) threw us off a little. Our air pressures didn't come up like we thought they would. We changed them at the break and the car came to life. We lost too much ground in the first half to make it back, but I'm satisfied with the way the car ran. This series is too tough to be a little bit off, you need to be good at the drop of the green. I think we've made considerable gains from last year and I'm looking forward to Madison."
